Is a Youth Division Coming? Inside the Council's Ongoing Debate

The Council's current minimum competing age of sixteen has held since the sanctioning rulebook was first drafted in 2021, but growing interest from younger fans at regional events has put a potential youth division on the safety committee's agenda for the first time.
Any youth division would require a separate, blunted-blade equipment standard and dedicated judging certification, according to committee notes shared with the Council's newsletter. No timeline for a decision has been announced.
